Home Run at the Oscars

It’s that time of the year. Hollywood’s most glamorous evening: the night of the Oscars. The reunion of the most elite film directors and actors, to celebrate the best movies produced in the year to date. This week, the 96th Academy Awards took place on the fancy red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Oppenheimer, created by film director Christopher Nolan, took the absolute spotlight this year. It won the best picture award and six other awards, delivering the first Oscar to Christopher Nolan for best director, and the top award for actor to Cillian Murphy. The movie narrates the events that took place during World War II, where general Leslie Groves Jr. appoints physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer to work on the top-secret nuclear project, the “Manhattan Project”. This movie is so incredible, that it represents a movie and a documentary, at the same time. The genius of Nolan is represented at all points in the script, and at its peak with the combination of both colour and black and white scenes in the filmmaking. Where a movie uniquely becomes magical, the spectator feels part of the scene and the story. This is what director Nolan achieves with this unprecedented work.

This result is big, yet it comes at little surprise. The film reached $ 1 billion at the box office. Just like a sports team which early in the season sends strong signals to all other competitors of being the clear favorite for the title, so did the movie Oppenheimer and its entire film crew when it came out in the movie theaters. From the first moment, it was clear as day, this movie was always going to be the main title contender at the Oscars. For its historical significance and spectacular execution. For the best director in the industry, Christopher Nolan, and the best actor of the game, Cillian Murphy.

We thank you for your continued support.
